Kendrick Lamar‘s industry assault continues, as the twentysomething MC covers XXL’s 15th Anniversary Issue alongside his label boss and fellow Compton native Dr. Dre.
As I mentioned in the last Dre-related post I wrote, the Good Doctor has been very visible lately, indicating that he’s in a good working groove. This, of course, forces any Hip-Hop fan to wonder if this increased production will have any effect on the progress of the much-ballyhooed and almost mythical Detox album we’ve all been salivating for. Since I don’t have a direct line to Dre or know anyone who does, there’s no way I can answer that question.
But we can always hope. And at least we have K-Dot’s good kid, m.A.A.d city album — which Dre will probably have his hands all over — to look forward to. Expect that to drop October 2nd.
XXL’s 15th Anniversary Issue should be on newsstands soon.
