Esteemed audio engineer Young Guru was a special guest lecturer for PopTech last fall and he took the audience to school. Guru has been Jay-Z‘s right-hand man in the studio for years, and using the knowledge he has gained he gives an enlightened view on hip-hop’s innovation and its convoluted relationship with piracy.

It’s refreshing to see someone represent hip-hop who has a clear understanding of its history and who can express its importance eloquently. Three videos are included below for your information, so get out a pen and pad because class is in session.
