Dubstep demon Benga drops his new single “Open Your Eyes“, complete with a visual that’s about as ghoulish as it gets.
After hearing his bouncy “We’re Coming Out” single a couple of weeks back, this is a return to the familiar stomp of Benga’s original sound. Replete with shouts of “Hey” that wouldn’t sound out of place on a record by The Prodigy, not to mention klaxon-style synths and oppressive bass, it’s one for those who like their dance tracks dark and heavy. Yet none of these elements match the effect of the spooky choral build-up in the middle of the track- a perfect match for the video clip- in which Orc-like creatures discover dubstep and rage like there’s no tomorrow. Not for small children.
