Karriem Riggins pays tribute with “J Dilla the Greatest” [Video]

February 7, 2013 marks the 39th birthday of the late great J Dilla. Even though he’s been gone for 7 years, his influence on the industry he worked so tirelessly in shows no sign of abating. Friend and collaborator Karriem Riggins is one of the musicians Dilla touched and in tribute, Riggins set his sights on a fitting audio homage.

“J Dilla the Greatest” is a track from Karriem’s Alone Together album and it melds together a percussion version of a song Dilla worked on with fellow Detroit emcee Phat Kat.
