Nottz presents DMP – “We Ain’t Playin” | Music Video

With Halloween just around the corner, Virginia rap group DMP have released some creepy visuals to accompany their latest track “We Ain’t Playin”.

The video shows the group, led by veteran rap producer Nottz , using sharp knives and razor rhymes to terrorise a couple in their own home, for no apparent reason, and to no apparent end. However sinister, it’s a wise visual choice for the second track from their unnamed debut project. The flickering images fit grimly with the instrumental, which is characterised by oppressive drums and Satanic choirs, and this leave quite an impression. In particular, it imbues the crew with a unique, menacing aura; think Mobb Deep when they used to dress up as grim reapers, only armed with heavier, and less well-perfected lyrical weapons.

Whilst these lot are still relatively unknown at the moment, a crew who come bearing a butcher’s apron, decent bars and murderous masks have every chance of prospering in a post-Eminem, post-Tyler world.
