Piff Gang – “Tanqueray & Piff” | Music Video

With their latest mixtape Plantlife London outfit Piff Gang fully embraced the airy sounds of cloud rap, and in their visual for one of the project’s stand-out tracks, “Tanqueray & Piff”, they take the experiment one step further.

Whilst the crew’s members use the track as a lyrical nod to Snoop Dogg‘s G-Funk classic “Gin And Juice“, something widely recognisable to their UK fan-base, the video sees them cloak themselves in the lazy and luxurious aesthetic of newer movements. If the shots of slow-mo hits and tanqueray drips are in line with anything it’s A$AP Rocky‘s purple-tinged breakthrough video or Oakland duo Main Attrakionz‘ moments of escapism. It’s a stylish look for a UK act and in some ways it’s better captured than the originals were, but for me it’s also just a little bit shallow.
