Rick Ross f/ Dr. Dre x Jay-Z – ’3 Kings’ | Music Video

Andy Bustard July 31, 2012 Music Videos Comments

Talk was circulating that Rick Ross would give the “classic hip-hop shit” on God Forgives, I Don’t album its official visuals, and today, on the release date of his brand new album, the Bawse delivers. Like always, Dre Films fill the grooves on the director’s seat, and bring the grand “3 Kings” cut, bolstered by a tough verse from Dr. Dre and an undeniably show-stealing contribution from Jay-Z, to life.

In a smooth, cohesive montage, the clip pastes together both current and archival footage as the lyrical references are made. In Dre’s opening bars, we get to see scenes from those classic N.W.A. and Snoop Dogg videos among other things; when Rozay takes over, images of MLK, Barack Obama and Malcolm X take centre stage; while rare footage from his classic album photo shoots (including Reasonable Doubt, In My Lifetime, The Dynasty and The Black Album) prize Hov’s quotable-filled verse. Real nice job, Dre Films.
