Ryshon Jones – ’40 Pills’ | Music Video

The rabbit from Donnie Darko returns. No, not for another pain-staking sequel, but in the form of Philadelphia-hailing emcee Ryshon Jones‘ brand new video, “40 Pills”. There’s no way you can name a track that and not have fun behind the lens with it; even better when Lee Bannon has laced the audio with some washing synths and lethargic vocal samples that really does evoke the sensation that you’ve just popped “40 pills in 24 hours”.

The clip, in all its seemingly arbitrary and erratic glory, does the sonic eeriness justice, particularly from the 3:20 mark. Press play below and find the track on Ryshon’s Basqi mixtape here.

  1. [...] Ryshon Jones – “40 Pills” P. Lee Bannon [Video] 5/10/12 | By Andrew Martin | No Comments Sometimes it takes the right track for an artist to click with you. For me and Philadelphia spitter Ryshon Jones, it was “40 Pills”. The Lee Bannon-produced joint features just the right amount of paranoid raps and trippy instrumentation, turning it into a sort of psychedelic-rap anthem. Not only that, but it’s got a grainy, schizophrenic video to go with it that you can peep below. If you, too, are getting stuck on “40 Pills”, you should check out Jones’ Basqui mixtape here.
