It can be a difficult fact to face, but sometimes the fantasy’s just more tempting than the reality. Emerging South London Hip Hop duo 2morrows Victory consider this very situation – “meeting the dream situation and turning it down for the actual dream” – over cosmic, shifting production on “Rancid Dreamstate.”
Comprised of Rafael Powell and Chicago native Greg B [and hotly tipped by Gilles Peterson last year] the group’s influences span a Hip Hop, Soul landscape ranging from Madlib to Little Dragon, culminating in a “dream-like ambience” for their new project, The Prime. “Dreams are ‘the prime’ moments of peoples lives. This music is about blending dreams and real life,” explains Greg B of their six-track EP, self-released and available to buy now.
Directed by Eddie Otchere and premiered exclusively on SoulCulture, watch the video for “Rancid Dreamstate” below.
