Big K.R.I.T. f/ Slim Thug – “Now And Then” | New Music

Sam Gould December 6, 2012 Hip Hop, Music, New Music Comments

With his combination of Southern soul, slick, heartfelt raps and nostalgic production, Mississippi’s Big K.R.I.T. is one of those rappers we’re always checking for here at SoulCulture.

The Meridian emcee’s latest track, “Now And Then” reminds us why he’s so good. A self-produced cut, made for DJ Wally Sparks, TSS and SPSKMEN’s SPKSMEN Vol.1., it oozes syrupy Southern goodness, and also offers listeners the chance to hear Krizzle trade bars with a legend of the game, Houston veteran Slim Thug. Both go in as we’d expect them to, and to be honest, I could keep on waxing lyrical about the result but I’d rather you just scrolled down and had a listen for yourself:

Look out for SPKSMEN Vol.1 when it drops December 10th. Have a listen to the previous release, Smoke DZA’s “BCE Freestyle“, here.
