His Goodie Mob group may have reformed and be hard at work on their comeback album, Age Against the Machine, but Cee Lo Green comes through with a brand new solo track entitled “I’m a Man”. Over a funky, Motown-inspired instrumental, the soul singer channels his usual mighty chords and bares truth to the ladies: “There’s so many ladies that need love, oh I’ll do the best I can/ But if the morning comes and I’m not there, then darling please understand that I’m a man.”
The song will feature on the soundtrack to the upcoming Sparkle film (in theatres August 17th), which stars Cee Lo himself. The motion picture is a remake of the 1976 original, and will also feature Jordin Sparks and the late Whitney Houston. The Sparkle soundtrack is available to stream in full here.
