Chipmunk feat. Mavado – “Every Gyal” | New Music

With just 5 days ’til its release, the leaks for Chipmunk’sTransition LP are coming in thick and fast. We posted the collaboration with Trey Songz earlier, now we have the song [I anticipated the most] with Mavado;”Every Gyal,” produced by Dready.

Chipmunk uses Beenie Man‘s lyric “Gal ah tear off mi garment/ And a bawl fi come inna mi apartment.” Good lad. I feel like I’ve heard this flow by Chipmunk before – a few times too. Mavado says “The Stulla oil never cake up” which sounds like the first time I’ve heard Mavado throw a subliminal at Vybz Kartel‘s skin-lightening technique. So, Chipmunk got Chris Brown aka Lamborghini Breezy to address the whole, erm, Lamborghini incident [on "Champion"], plus this? Done well.

Final thoughts? Sounds like an overproduced version of Mavado’s 2010 club-smash “Gal A Mad Ova“. Ultimate respect to Chipmunk for reaching out to and working with Mavado. I’m sure his label wouldn’t have advised it. Hope the song does well.
