CL Smooth, one half of legendary group Pete Rock & CL Smooth, is back with a new cut titled “Ask About Me”.
Taken from his upcoming project The Emancipation Of Corey Penn, the track is produced by Kenny Ali II and features the same Jay-Z sample used by Cassidy on “I’m A Hustler”, ripped from the Jiggaman’s “Dirt Off Your Shoulder”.
While CL Smooth’s new album isn’t slated to drop until early 2013 his work doesn’t stop there. For fans of the iconic group he formed alongside Pete Rock, the duo have a few forthcoming London shows. Celebrating 20 years since the release of arguably one of hip-hop’s finest albums – The Mecca & The Soul Brother, they’ll set up shop at Camden’s Jazz Cafe on October 28th, 29th, 30th.
