We always have time for Jhene Aiko over here in SoulCulture HQ. After winning our hearts with her Sailing Soul(s) mixtape (“higher” and “stranger” are never off my playlist) which was better than most commercial releases this year, we are always on the look out for some(any)thing new from her.
Well, the young lady took to her webcam to record this cute cover of Marvin Gaye’s classic “Let’s Get It On” the title track of the soul legend’s 1973 release. Check it out below.
I know “purists” are going to have something snarky to say about this, but you know what I like it. Even when she forgets the words there is something about her that’s fun and captivating for me. Looking forward to some newness from her soon.
