The xx perform “Angels” + “Teardrops” live on BBC Radio 2 [Audio]

On Saturday (8th December), London indie-pop trio the xx paid a visit to Dermot O’Leary’s Radio Two to debut new versions of two tracks that have already had music fans frantically tapping repeat in recent years.

First they unveiled a beautiful alternate take on “Angels“, their lead single from this year’s sophomore album Coexistand if you thought the original was sparse, wait until you hear this, so cleanly rendered that you could hear pin-drops, if Jamie and co would let them. Next they delivered their cover of Womack & Womack’s “Teardrops“, from their Mercury Prize-winning debut xx. 

The minimalistic ballad is now a thing, prepare to be wowed:
