On his and DJ Jazzy Jeff‘s iconic hot-weather anthem “Summertime,” Will Smith raps, “if it ain’t broke, then don’t try to fix it.”
Well it seems that Smith, Jeff and DJ Mick Boogie have disregarded this advice, as a sample of the newly-remixed edition of the Grammy-winning 1991 classic has hit the ‘net.
A bit slower than the original, Jeff and Mick’s remix retains the laid-back, feelgood vibe of the original, while Smith shows that, even half a lifetime later, he can still get in Fresh Prince mode when the time calls for it.
The track will appear on Jeff and Mick’s remix-filled Summertime III mixtape (hosted by Smith), which will be available for download via PLNDR on June 11th.
