Fashawn is back with another leak from Champagne & Styrofoam Cups, and having dropped a track with Chevy Woods a few weeks back, this time he enlists Taylor Gang‘s highest authority to help him build buzz for the project, which was recently pushed to a November 20th release date.
Don’t be fooled by the name. You can tell from the first line of “Medicine Man (Drug Free)” that this track is laced with the sticky-icky stuff, and before long Fash and Wiz Khalifa are up with the planes. DJ Dahi‘s beat helps them get there. The producer behind “Money Trees” and “My Type of Party” continues his fine run of form into this track with the help of wavey synths and upbeat 808s. On the one hand his production sparks a catchy hook from Fashawn; on the other it enables Wiz Khalifa to drop a verse we’ve heard a million times before, whilst sounding more gleeful and nimble than we’ve heard him in a long time.
The overall result: probably further proof that Fashawn’s going down the commercial route with his new project- but still an A- grade as far as the music goes. Have a listen for yourself below.
