Odd Future‘s recently fans/affiliate jazz collective (how long until Odd Future expand into plumbing/construction/techno/zookeeping/stock brokerage?!) BadBadNotGood have just dropped this eleven track free download EP ahead of their anticipated appearance at Coachella later this year. The trio were discovered performing jazz covers of Odd Future tracks online, before being whisked into the studio with Tyler, The Creator then championed by legendary tastemaker Gilles Peterson and most recently, recording new material with Odd Future favourites Frank Ocean and Earl Sweatshirt. Frankly, that’s a pretty amazing journey in a fairly short space of time that’s testament to the wonders of the internet and the new way of working.
Here’s what they had to say about the project:
No one above the age of 21 was involved in the making of this album. This album was recorded in one 10 hour session. Thanks to our friends, family, loved ones and anyone who fucks with us.
