The good folks at the DJ Premier Blog have unearthed some extremely rare, almost 20-year-old audio of the late, great Guru freestyling and being interviewed during a trip to Belgium.
Guru was in Brussels on the promo run for Gang Starr‘s classic fourth album Hard to Earn and stopped by local station Studio Brussel‘s Update Show for an appearance. During the brief interview, the MC discussed the meaning of the album’s title and how wack being a “jazz rapper” would be before coming straight off his bald dome over the timeless “Mass Appeal” instrumental.
This one is definitely a must-have for those collectors of rare audio out there.
