After delays caused by the Hurricane Sandy deluge, Heems aka Himanshu Suri of Brooklyn rap group Das Racist, dropped his free Wild Water Kingdom album this week. The album, Heems’ second as a solo artist after January’s Nehru Jackets, features beats from Harry Fraud , Keyboard Kid, Beautiful Lou, Mike Finito and Crookers whilst guest raps come from Childish Gambino and Bodega Bamz.
In Heems’ own words, “it’s influenced primarily by India, New York, and Jamaica”, so expect to hear plenty of diaspora musings and Bollywood influences mixed in with Das Racist-style chitter-chatter and Heems’ playful stoner logic.
