While A$AP Rocky and Hit-Boy dominated blogs’ attention yesterday with the release of their “Goldie” single (listen here), the first from Rocky’s forthcoming LongLiveA$AP album, hip-hop’s other hype machine crew slipped a new song into airwaves on the down low.
“Timbs” pairs Odd Future‘s Hodgy Beats and Domo Genesis together – known here as MellowHigh, perhaps signaling a new alliance within the Golf Wang camp – over Lex Luger‘s cinematic production. Don’t expect any of those bullying basslines or trademark rapid drum sequences here, though – picture the grandiose tone of his contribution to Wale‘s ”That Way“, only in more menacing form.
As per, the OF boys aren’t keen on press releases – a simple Tumblr post doing the job – so there’s no details on where this song could land itself. For now, though, simply play below and enjoy.
