Musically, the city of Atlanta may be best associated with streetwise rap from the likes of Young Jeezy, T.I. and one of it’s newest exports 2 Chainz, but independent R&B artist India Shawn is slowly breaking out – just peruse her brand new single, “All I Have”.
Over moody riffs, sparse keys and a soft drum-set soundbed, Ms. Shawn douses us in early ’00s R&B nostalgia, spearheading the track with some strong, yet soothing, vocals. Featured on the single are G.O.O.D. Music-signed producer-turned-rapper Hit-Boy (who recently made his rap debut with HITstory) and James Fauntleroy, who is best known for delivering delicious hooks as part of the Cocaine 80s outfit.
“All I Have” serves as the first sample of India Shawn’s upcoming debut album, ORIGINS – and judging this appetisier, it’s shaping up to be one tasty dish.
