Collaboration albums/EPs/mixtapes seem to be a dime a dozen these days, and as a result very rarely do they provide the listener with a finished project that’s separate from the chasing pack.
Last year, during a studio session on July 5th [See what they did there?], the RoadSound Entertainment affiliates began working on music for a number of artists. As the session ticked away, the beatsmiths intuitively began creating original music separate from the beats they had put together for their clients. By the end of their studio-cum-jam-session, VersA and rapper/singer/producer Dukus had full project’s worth of music on their hands.
Fast forward one year and the producers have decided to liberate the music they made in that impromptu session, christening it Breakfast In Paris. The LP, which features collaborations with upstarts Scarlett, Mary Cruz and former The Voice UK contestant Cassius Henry, explores the inner workings of a relationship that started of with so much promise but later went sour.
The music found on the ten-track album has a very chilled, laid back, ambient vibe that’s perfect for the
British Summer and, coincidently, not too far removed from VersA’s excellent instrumental mixtape IMOGEN, which he released earlier this year.
Stream and download the entire album below, and be sure to check out IMOGEN.
