Kanye West‘s “White Dress” was one of the stand-out tracks from RZA‘s superb Man With The Iron Fists sound-track. The track, which was jointly produced by RZA and ‘Ye, as well as GOOD Music beat-making duo Boogz & Tapez, was a soft sonnet to its protagonist’s latest flame, and whilst it worked perfectly well, RZA has just returned with an alternate, unreleased version.
Whilst this “White Dress” isn’t a massive departure from the original it’s still well a listen. The track seems to have been mixed a little differently and fleshed out with additional instrumentation, whilst background vocals from Tru James (of Wu-Tang affiliated soul group Stone Mecca) add a little bit to its ’02 throwback vibe. There’s also a playful breakdown at the end.
