Hands down one of the biggest and best stoner anthems of the century, Lil’ Wayne‘s “I Feel Like Dying” — a track recorded during the sessions for Tha Carter III but only released via mixtape — signalled the peak of Weezy’s career. With lines like “I can mingle with the stars and throw a party on Mars/I am a prisoner locked up behind Xanax bars,” its trippy bars and mellow intonations made even non-smokers rejoice in its absurdity.
Now, New York-hailing MC Kilo Kish — who has featured on several tracks from various members of the Odd Future crew and recently released her HomeSchool EP — has taken the track and put her own vulnerable spin on it. Granted, the lack of Weezy and his rasping voice is a negative, but it’s (almost) just as easy to get lost in.
