Laura Mvula – “She” | New Music

M. Gosho Oakes September 28, 2012 New Music, Soul/R&B/Alt Comments

Ear-catching new UK singer-songwriter Laura Mvula emerges with “She,” providing three and a half minutes of delicate instrumentation and choral harmonies sliced through with the Birmingham native’s clear and distinctive delivery of resilient lyrics with soul. Count me in.

Currently in New York mixing her debut album with Tom Elmhirst (Adele, Mark Ronson, Amy Winehouse) at Electric Lady Studios, Mvula – a classically trained composer – has been quietly working on her introductory project, which should come out later this year through RCA Records.

Having performed the opening slot for Rebecca Ferguson‘s headline show at the iTunes Festival in London earlier this month, Laura Mvula releases her single “She” on October 22nd – take a listen below, with it’s accompanying video directed by RANKIN coming soon.

Verrry interesting to my ears… *wiggles fingers like a magician* Looking forward to hearing more from this one.

“She” is now available to pre-order on 7″ accompanied with “Like The Morning Dew” on the B-side.
