Meek Mill – “Dreams And Nightmares (Intro)” | New Music

Sam Gould October 23, 2012 Music, New Music Comments

With Meek Mill‘s Dreams And Nightmares arriving in a week, he’s decided to grab people’s attention by unleashing the “Intro” to that project. The MMG rapper starts out out over a reflective, even melancholy, instrumental, before switching gears as drums and skittery synths come in, showing the energy and densely worded, machine-gun flow that makes him one of the best technical rappers out. It’s a great follow-up to “Maybach Curtains“, and another welcome distraction from the Kirko Bangz-assisted “Young & Gettin’ It”.

On a sidenote, to any dumb rap fans busy comparing Meek to Kendrick Lamar for purely chronological reasons, stop. These are two very different rappers with very different fanbases. Whilst Kendrick’s good kid, m.A.A.d city story has resonated more so far (read our review here), it’s important that we give Meek Mill’s debut the respect it deserves.

Listen to Meek’s intro below. Dreams And Nightmares drops October 30th, pre-order here:
