Pac Div f/ Kendrick Lamar, Blu – “Cross Trainers” | New Music

Sam Gould November 7, 2012 Hip Hop, Music, New Music Comments

There are pros and cons to enlisting Kendrick Lamar for an album feature. Pros: beyond the obvious fact he’ll annihilate his verse, there’s every chance he’ll help build buzz for your current project. Cons: he might just murder you on your own ish.

Anyway, with the release date for their sophomore album GMB just around the corner (set for a November 27th release) West Coast rap trio Pac Div clearly decided that the time was right to drop a track with Kendrick. They also decided to recruit Blu, a long-term staple of the Cali underground scene, to join them on “Cross Trainers” – as if four dope New West emcees wasn’t enough.

On a first listen the extended team sound great over the dirty drums, numerous scratches and seemingly Halloween themed backdrop. All five rappers seem to tag in and out seamlessly, and although Kendrick’s time in the ring is brief, the beat’s already bloodied when he gets there. Press play and go a few rounds with the Pac’s finest below.
