After impressing us to no end with his track “Lightbulbs” back in September, North London based DJ & producer Cronos turns his skills to one of the year’s biggest pop cuts.
The soundsmith gives Rihanna‘s “Diamonds”, the lead single from her seventh studio album Unapologetic, ‘The Martian Orchestral Genre’ treatment, giving the track a hauntingly beautiful new soul and we are proud to premiere the end result below.
“Usually I remix songs I’m feeling and when I first heard this, I felt the vocals sounded quite haunting in parts, not so much in the lyrics but more the way Rihanna sung it. I tend to hear a song like this and listen to it over and over until I’ve made a whole new song in my head without actually laying anything down, but with this song I actually made more than one version with this being the best.
