With Sir Michael Rocks‘ Lap of Lux 1.5 set to drop this Thursday (December 4th), the Cool Kids rapper lets us listen to the project’s opening track, a sunny, laid-back cut titled “Make This Bread”.
The new song sees the Jet Life member, whose original Lap of Lux came out in August, sharing his get mo-money philosophy with us over spaced out production from Reno. “Make this bread or make your bed” he raps on the hook, “take this ride or this wheel/take your time or your pill”, and there’s something about the carefree cadence that reminds me of Dom Kennedy’s recent releases.
Lap of Lux 1.5 features production from Harry Fraud and Cardo, as well as a temporary Cool Kids reunion, in the form of a Chuck Inglish-collaboration titled “Move Something”. Listen to “Make This Bread” below, and head back on Thursday to download the full project:
