As a tribute to Chris Lighty, the popular and trendsetting music executive who died last week from an apparent suicide, Slaughterhouse remixes the already-heartfelt welcome to: OUR HOUSE single “Goodbye,” adding a verse from rap veteran and Lighty’s close friend Fat Joe.
Lighty’s death rocked the Hip-Hop community, and the emotion it stirred is absolutely palpable here. Despite his reputation as one of the game’s true hardrocks, Joe Crack has also never had a problem freely expressing himself about those he considers his friends. In this verse, as in all of his verses about fallen comrades, he’s honest, he’s candid and he’s obviously hurt. The bars fit perfectly with the highly reflective, preexisting verses from the House Gang.
