Yesterday we heard Snoop Dogg revert to his old tricks by dropping a rap tape with long-term collaborators and fellow West Coast legends Tha Dogg Pound, but he hasn’t forgotten about his rechristening as Snoop Lion.
Here’s the latest single from the Lion’s forthcoming reggae album with Major Lazer, a collaboration with Magnetic Man collaborator Angela Hunt titled “Here Comes The Thing”. Snoop half-croons “one king, one faith, one religion” for the chorus, and it all sounds like a rather facile take on Rastafari spiritualism and roots music, but he doesn’t stop Angela providing smooth vocals, and the instrumental should make you smile.
