SpaceGhostPurrp – “Whole Latta Icee” | New Music

Fresh out of conflict with members of A$AP Mob, Icee a.k.a. SpaceGhostPurrp has dropped off a cold killer of a track, entitled “Whole Latta Icee“. The new release appears to be the follow-up to “Swervin”, the first leak from forthcoming mixtape Sex Money Drugz, which will be dropped as singles week-by-week, and it’s the best evidence yet that retirement isn’t a reality for him.

I’m gonna be straight with you- this beat (made by Purrp himself) is one of the best, albeit simplest, pieces of production I’ve heard in recent months. It reminds me a little of MellowHype‘s recent, synth-led “Grill“, only with the addition of thick, rattling bass, female moans (also heard in “Swervin”) and police sirens. These elements add that extra element of the Memphis Mafia sound to the track, and the Raider Klan man’s tongue-twisting lyrics drag the song firmly in that direction.
