Sway – “Charge (SuperCharge Pt 1)” f/ Lunar C, Stig of the Dump, Shotty Horroh, Rizzle, Black The Ripper & Jehst

Sam Gould November 28, 2012 Hip Hop, New Music, Remixes Comments

Sway remixes his recent, dance-infused single “Charge“, with the help of some of the UK’s best known battle-rap talents.

The track, which samples Crystal Waters ’91 classic “Gypsy Woman” and features an infectious sped-up vocal from Mr Hudson, is an open invitation for high energy, high tempo spitters to attack. The varying talents on display generally do a pretty good job-  Bradford’s Lunar C opens with what is arguably the most lyrical verse; Shotty Horroh’s flow is as remarkable as his voice is grating; whilst both Black The Ripper and Jehst impress with their wordplay. On the other hand, Stig The Dump’s rapidity isn’t enough to save him (or his name) and Jordan “Rizzle” Stephens, one half of South Coast duo Rizzle Kicks, just shouldn’t really be here.
