Talib Kweli f/ Curren$y x Kendrick Lamar – ‘Push Thru’ | New Music

Andy Bustard July 19, 2012 Hip Hop, New Music Comments

Just earlier today, footage surfaced online of Talib Kweli previewing an upcoming song which will feature Kendrick Lamar and Curren$y at a gig in Seattle. And due thanks to this pacey, Internet-driven industry we find ourselves in, the track just so happens to find its way onto the ‘net in full form.

Entitled “Push Through”, the collaboration joins BK emcee Talib’s quintessentially politically and socially-charged verse, Spitta’s insight into the independent grind and K. Dot’s introspective account of dreaming big with a rich and brassy instrumental courtesy of S1 (Kanye West, “Power”, Beyonce “Best Thing I Never Had”, Phonte “Gonna Be A Beautiful Night”).

This new track is expected to feature on Kweli’s upcoming sixth solo LP, Prisoner of Conscious, which follows his newly-announced Attack The Block mixtape, out soon.
