Talib Kweli f/ Maino – ‘To The Music’ (Prod. 9th Wonder) | New Music

After upping the ante all the way to the blue skies for his upcoming sixth studio album, Prisoner of Conscious (see: “Push Thru” featuring Curren$y and Kendrick Lamar), Talib Kweli reverts back to his next scheduled release, the Attack The Block mixtape, for its first nutritious sample.

Having a sublime beat supplied to him by 9th Wonder is no surprise (the two have collaborated numerous times, most recently for “Never Stop Loving You” off 9th’s solo LP, The Wonder Years), but the addition of hard-nosed Brooklyn emcee Maino may evoke a few “oh”‘s. You’ll soon be eating your words, though, ’cause he actually does his thing.

Attack The Block, which is a collaborative effort between Kweli and DJ Z-Trip, has yet to be announced with a release date, but be on the lookout for its arrival soon. The emcee’s next solo album, the aforementioned Prisoner of Conscious, is due out in October via Blacksmith/EMI.
