With yet another film-inspired project on the way, revered experimental British jazz and electronic collective The Cinematic Orchestra unleash five minutes of uplifting, lush instrumental sublimity in the form of “Entr’acte” – which we’re proud to present exclusively for your listening pleasure and free download.
Curated by composer and multi-instrumentalist Jason Swinscoe – who founded the six-piece outfit in 1999 – a selection of musicians, producers and a string quartet craft musical re-imaginings of avant-garde films for the Cinematics new project, The Cinematic Orchestra Presents In Motion #1, scheduled for release on June 25th via Ninja Tune.
Sharing the same title as French filmmaker and writer René Clair‘s 1924 short film, “Entr’acte” opens with a softly melodic harp before introducing strings and rousing, rich orchestral arrangements.
