You may recall that just the other day I brought you news that Mr J. Medeiros and Stro Elliot, a.k.a hip hop duo The Procussions, were getting back together in order to make one more album. That is, on the condition that their fans helped them raise £10,000 for the album via their IndieGogo page. They’ve now reached nearly 66% of their goal, but still need as much support as they can get.
And what better reason to get involved than this – the duo have been kind enough to offer fans a compilation of all their best tracks, spanning from 1999 right through to 2012 and including contributions from Talib Kweli, !llmind, Shad, Strange Fruit Project, 20Syl and French hip hop group Hocus Pocus.
In other words, giving away the best music from their old albums to help support their new album. The collection, titled Up ‘Till Now is a brilliant and eclectic collection of tracks- a mixture of official releases, remixes and exclusives – and it’s free!
Even if you’re not familiar with the pair’s work, I highly recommend having a listen to Mr J. Medeiros’ expert, well-informed lyricism and Stro’s beats. 20Syl’s remix of “Pale Blue Dot,” which also features Canadian rapper Shad, is a great place to start if you’re not familiar with work, but the whole project will put a smile on your face.
Stream ‘Up Till Now below and if you like it, download it here.
