Action Bronson is very good at finding those diamond-in-the-rough producers. Having recently dropped his impressive Blue Chips project with a 23-year-old, relatively unknown Brooklynite who calls himself Party Supplies, Bronsoliño has now linked with London beatsmith The Purist for “Northern and Roozy,” a cinematic cut from the producer’s recently-released Double Feature EP.
Basically a ghetto love song, “Northern and Roozy” — that’s Northern Blvd. and Roosevelt Avenue for those of you who don’t speak that Queens (NY) English — sees rap’s favorite red beard using The Purist’s string-driven, symphonic soundbed to share the story of a summer love in the ‘hood. Very dope.
Along with this winner, Double Feature also sees The Purist link with Roc Marciano and Ty Nitty for the EP’s other two songs with words, with the remaining six tracks being instrumentals allowing the producer to show the rest of the world just how dope he is on the boards.
