Check out this 27-second video teaser for “Valerie”, one of three new tracks from The Weeknd‘s major label debut, Trilogy.
On Monday, the Canadian singer-songwriter hit Twitter to tell fans they could expect something from him this coming Thursday. It’s likely to be the full version of this track, “Valerie”, which closes the Thursday chapter of his RnB project.
Here there seems to be a significant departure from the smooth, black-and-white aesthetic of the “Wicked Games” and “Rolling Stone” videos. We get a literal representation of the House of Balloons falling apart, with a girl sobbing on a sofa to a background of colourful, bursting balloons, and The Weeknd’s voice moving away from the sound of his second tape, Thursday, towards the bleakness of Echoes of Silence.
