The xx – ‘Angels’ (Sango Remix) | New Music

The Internet (or “Internetz”, if you’re really ’bout that life) has been to good to U.S. producer Sango. Having gifted the world wide web his refixes of various alternative acts like Frank Ocean, M.I.A., Little Dragon, Bon Iver and The Weeknd in recent months, his work has been shared by countless major blogs and names, including Abel Tesfaye himself. Accolades aside, however, the music speaks for itself.

Case in point: Sango’s remix of The xx‘s “Angels”, fresh to our ears today. With that familiar masterful musical flair on display, the Michigan-by-way-of-Seattle representative transforms the London band’s minimalistic downer into a thumping, Glitch-hop gem, laced with Romy Madley-Croft‘s original melancholy croons as the metaphorical cherry on top.

It’s no wonder why this beatsmith has been personally enlisted by The Weeknd for further work, as well as a whole host of other artists including Asher Roth, Mac Miller and UK’s own Dot Rotten. So, without further ado, glide into Sango’s reinterpretation of “Angels” below.
