The Chicago Hip-Hop scene has gained nationwide fame for its soulful vibes, due largely to the rise of a young producer named Kanye West. Make no mistake, Mr. West is not the only one from his city to craft such smooth vibes. Chi-town producer Thelonious Martin‘s latest release, an instrumental album called MCMXCII (marking his year of birth, 1992), proves that Chicago’s got plenty of new emerging greatness to be enjoyed.
Among his influences he lists J. Dilla, Madlib, MF DOOM, Pete Rock, Just Blaze and The Alchemist. Who’s to say that Martin himself won’t be added to this list of greats one day?
