Brainfeeder‘s beat goddess TOKiMONSTA returns with a new, unreleased track entitled “Sore”.
It’s been a tough few days for the label after classical piano-turned-electronic prodigy Austin Peralta passed away, and perhaps that explains why TOKiMONSTA, another devotee of classical piano, chose to release this rough, unreleased mix. The track sees the Korean-American LA producer move away from the smooth, ethereal soundbeds which we’re accustomed to hearing from her, towards darker realms. Whilst I wouldn’t call it straightforwardly emotional, a more aggressive template shines through “Sore’s” pounding percussion and alarming FX, broken only by a short symphonic section around the 1.50 mark.
