Here’s an intriguing musical partnership: genre-busting producer Toro Y Moi and Odd Future’s Hodgy Beats have linked up for the B-side remix to Toro’s “So Many Details”, which drops on vinyl on November 23rd. The original was a super chilled, funk-influenced piece of synthpop but the addition of Hodgy around the 2.20 mark and some skittish synths makes it a little more urgent, and arguably more interesting. Toro, real name Chaz Bundick, recently expressed his desire to “make sincere pop music that’s not all processed and bubblegum” and this fits the bill.
“So Many Details” will also appear on Toro’s third LP, Anything In Return, which drops on January 22nd. Listen to the remix below:
