In good timing for Father’s Day tomorrow, Shady Records‘ rhymeslinger Yelawolf gifts the fittingly-titled “Happy Father’s Day”. “I’d like to send this record out… to all the daddies… y’know, the real daddies… taking care of sh*t” he announces, before diving straight into a heartfelt lyrical recount. This track serves as the first sample of Yela’s Heart of Dixie project, dropping July 4th.
With both his Shady Records debut Radioactive and Slumdon Bridge, the collaborative EP with UK’s own Ed Sheeran under his belt, Yelawolf’s schedule is even more busier looking ahead; in addition to Heart of Dixie, the rapper is prepping a 5-track EP with Travis Barker, Psycho White, a joint effort with fellow Southern native Big K.R.I.T. entitled Country Cousins and his follow-up album, Love Story.
