Rick Ross was supposed to be in Australia performing in their annual Supafest this weekend, but will not make it because “the payment arrangements did not meet contractual deadlines,” according to a statement obtained by AllHipHop.
Ross was scheduled to perform on all four days of Supafest but now will not perform at all due to the alleged contractual dispute.
“Ross was looking forward to touching the people of Australia, this event as it is the one of biggest urban festivals in Australia, he is very disappointed that he will not be performing,” the statement said.
The claims from Ross’ camp contradict those in an earlier statement from the Supafest PR rep, who says Ross was paid in full and was simply a no-show in Australia this morning.
“Rick Ross has been paid in full and contracted, but failed to show up in Brisbane this morning with no reason from management and no official cancellation or word from his management. The promoter has been calling them all morning trying to find out why and to see if he will get on the plane for the final two shows,” said the Supafest statement obtained by Australian site MusicFeeds.
Supafest is Australia’s largest urban music festival, stretching across four cities in as many days and featuring many of the top acts in American Hip-Hop and R&B. Supafest 2012 no longer features Rick Ross or Diddy, but fans will still be treated to acts including Kelly Rowland, Chris Brown, Ludacris, Ice Cube, Naughty By Nature and many others.
Tickets for the remaining Supafest shows are available here.
