Wiz Khalifa premieres new single “Work Hard, Play Hard” in San Francisco [Video]

Yesterday’s 4/20 was like Christmas day for folks like Wiz Khalifa, so the big chiefer saw fit to bare a gift for the masses on the occasion. Performing in San Francisco last night for his “Bake Off” show alongside A$AP Rocky, ScHoolboy Q and Chevy Woods, the Taylor Gang chief premiered his upcoming single – now revealed to be titled “Work Hard, Play Hard”, not the previously reported “Work Hard” – to the live audience.

It’s hard to wrap your ear around the track thanks to the invasion of bass on the footage’s audio, but that catchy hook isn’t hard to recognise, which suggests Wiz is aiming for another chart-hitting single to rival “Black & Yellow”. Coincidentally, “Work Hard, Play Hard” is produced by Stargate (who crafted the aforementioned “Black & Yellow”) and Benny Blanco (producer to pop stars such as Justin Bieber, Katy Perry and Ke$ha).

Wiz himself promised a return to his core sound on Taylor Allderdice, but it looks like his forthcoming O.N.I.F.C. album might just be a second take of his commercially-successful yet critically-underwhelming debut, Rolling Papers.

“Work Hard, Play Hard” is set to be released on Monday (April 23rd). Preview it below.
