Florida’s teenage production phenom XXYYXX continues to intrigue and impress. After removing Waka Flocka Flame‘s “Hard In Da Paint” from its shackles of Lex Luger rattles and soniclly altering our sobriety with “About You” and its arousing visuals, the mysterious beatsmith brings us Dolors, a 2-track instrumental EP that fails to fall short of expectations.
Over the pair of cuts, “Alexis” and “LOVECLOUD”, 16-year-old XXYYXX displays his ear for diversity, leaving the minimalistic electronic vibes in the rear mirror and leaping to a sound best described as alluring R&B. You can’t help but to expect greater things from this kid.
