Rihanna to design clothing range exclusively for River Island | Style

If there is one lady who’s killing it from every angle right now, it undoubtedly has to be Rihanna. Not content with being a global popstar, starring in a blockbuster movie and having a new TV show on the horizon, the Bajan bombshell is now set to design her first clothing collection exclusively for River Island.

The British high-street brand announced the exciting news today via their website, confirming that the singer has chosen them to distribute her clothing range. They commented on their site saying, “We’re all huge fans of Rihanna’s style here at River Island so you can imagine how flattered we were when she approached us about working together and bringing our fashion experience to her range.”

River Island’s chief executive Ben Lewis added his own two cents, expressing his excitement at the new partnership: “Rihanna is a style icon, from street to chic she enjoys her fashion. As soon as we started to work together we knew this was a perfect fit.”

Being the style icon that she is, it would be fair to say that Rihanna would have her pick of the litter when it came to deciding with whom she wanted to work. Explaining the reasons for her choice, Rihanna says, “I’ve been wanting to design my own collection for some time. River Island is the perfect partner for me to collaborate with and working with a British, family-run business also really appealed to me.

“I find London really inspiring and River Island loves to have fun with clothes. I’m looking forward to working with them and creating something really special.”

The news comes months after speculation about the possible collaboration began in February, after Rihanna stopped by River Island’s head office on a visit to London. It was dismissed at the time as just a private shopping trip.
