Much like her super-producer husband Swizz Beatz, songstress Alicia Keys is showcasing some new design skills as she collaborates with sportswear brand Reebok to bring us some brand new shoe designs. Keeping it in the family Beatz, who serves as creative director of Reebok Classics, enlisted his wife to give the brand an injection of life.
Taking note from Beatz, who set his more laid back street style aside when he joined forces with high fashion shoe connoisseur Christian Louboutin for a higher end design product, Keys also sets aside her more glamourous look to design some casual, every day sneakers – with a cream, black, mustard and purple colour palette, for a striking look that isn’t too out there.
Taking on the Reebok Freestyle Hi she gives it her personal touch, with one design including a city skyline, an ode to her New York roots, balanced on top of simple black and white piano keys. Branching out further, Keys also designs super hi-tops – best worn with skinny jeans or even skirts if you’re more daring – and some standard shaped sneakers that are more versatile.
The new collection goes on sale online and in Finish Line stores for around $65-$80. Will you be getting a pair?
